Θέμα: Αναστενάρια Νομού Σερρών – Νέα κατάργηση τελετουργικών σφαγών ζώων μετά από παρέμβαση της Ομοσπονδίας μας.

Μετά από συντονισμένες ενέργειες της Ομοσπονδίας μας ματαιώθηκε – καταργήθηκε το μεσαιωνικό έθιμο της τελετουργικής σφαγής ζώων στα Αναστενάρια του νομού Σερρών λίγες μέρες μετά την κατάργηση του αντίστοιχου ειδεχθούς εθίμου στο Μανταμάδω της Λέσβου.

Η έγκαιρη κινητοποίησή μας σε συνεργασία με το εξουσιοδοτημένο σωματείο-μέλος της Ομοσπονδίας μας«Φιλοζωικός Όμιλος Σερρών»-,  είχε σαν αποτέλεσμα την έκδοση παραγγελίας από την Εισαγγελία Πρωτοδικών Σερρών προς τους διοργανωτές των σφαγών – θυσιών η οποία και έβαλε τέρμα στην βαρβαρότητα των εκδηλώσεων.

Η Ιερά Μητρόπολη Σερρών, η Εισαγγελία Σερρών και η Αστυνομική Διεύθυνση Σερρών ανταποκρίθηκαν στο αίτημα της Ομοσπονδίας μας να σταματήσουν οι ενέργειες αυτές, που προσβάλλουν βαθιά τον πολιτισμό μας και ”απανθρωπίζουν” την ανθρώπινη υπόσταση.

Σύμφωνα με ανεπιβεβαίωτες πληροφορίες η “τελετή” έγινε εν κρυπτώ και σε στενό κύκλο, πληροφορίες που ζητάμε η Εισαγγελία Σερρών να ερευνήσει και να προχωρήσει στα νόμιμα.

Παραφωνία στην όλη προσπάθεια η κατάπτυση, για μια ακόμη φορά, στάση της κτηνιατρικής υπηρεσίας Σερρών που με απίστευτη κυνικότητα για τα μαρτύρια των ζώων γραπτά γνωμάτευσε για την συνέχιση της βαρβαρότητας ενώ με πρόδηλη επιμονή ζητούσε την συνέχιση της ζωοθυσίας .

Η στάση της δε αυτή με τον πιο ευαπόδεικτο τρόπο επιβεβαιώνει την θέση της Ομοσπονδίας μας οτι οι κτηνιατρικές υπηρεσίες σε όλα τα μήκη και τα πλάτη της χώρας, με ελάχιστες εξαιρέσεις, δεν μπορούν να θεωρούνται αρμόδιες για την ευζωία των ζώων, απλά γιατί πρόκειται για γραφειοκράτες , κατά κύριο λόγο ζωοφοβικούς με καμία ευαισθησία απέναντι στα ζώα.

Παραθέτουμε σχετικές επιστολές για του λόγου μας το αληθές.

Τα θέματα της ευζωίας των ζώων θα πρέπει από την νέα ηγεσία του Υ.Π.Α.Π.ΕΝ. να ανατεθούν σε ειδική Επιτροπή Βιοηθικών Επιστημόνων με κυρίαρχη αντίληψη τον σεβασμό προς την ζωή, ανθρώπινη και μη, και βεβαίως με την συμβολή των Φιλοζωικών Οργανισμών .

Η χώρα μας χρειάζεται αλλαγή σελίδας και επαναπροσδιορισμό της σχέσης ανθρώπων και ζώων, η δε νέα αριστερή ηγεσία του υπουργείου έχει χρέος να προχωρήσει σε βαθιές τομές στα θέματα της προστασίας και των δικαιωμάτων τους.

Subject: Ritual slaughter of cattle and lambs in religious feasts in the wider area of the Municipality of Serres.

Honourables

The Panhellenic Animal Welfare and Environment Federation, has been informed about the ritual slaughter of animals, Taurusesand lambs during the festivities (Anastenaria) at the village of Saint Eleni of Serres, in the presence of the local citizens and visitors.
Gentlemen, are you know, the Greek Legislation (Ν.4039/2012) protects the well being of all the animals, while it is the duty of the Greek State to promote the animal welfare culture of the Greek citizens.

Since:
1. The specific tradition is illegal, because the animal slaughter according to the legislation in conducted at slaughterhouses, with specific veterinary instructions (stunning) and
suitable sanitary conditions for this purpose  (Π.Δ. 327/1996).
2. Conducting an animal slaughter in front of  the public, among them of children,
insults every mean of civilization. It is a barbaric and appalling sight which can only cause horror.
3. Talking today about animal “sacrifice”  especially  particularly within a religious celebration, comes in total contrast to the fundamental principles of the christian faith in the name of which this tradition is conducted.
The Animal Welfare community condemns every tradition which includes animal abuse, and even more the public animal abuse.
We ask the above authorities to take the necessary actions so that the public animal sacrifice – slaughter not to be conducted, both in Saint Eleni or any other area of the Municipality of Serres during the religious celebrations for the Anastenaria  (21-23 May, 2015).
We also inform you that we have authorized the association – member of our Federation “Animal Welfare Association of Serres” in order, this is considered necessary by the Prosecutor, to appoint a representative who in consultation with you and the presence of police officers / veterinary staff  who will be responsible for the maintaining the order/the application of the legislation regarding the slaughter and in general the animal welfare legislation, in order to follow and film what is happening (procession and stunning of animals), starting from the the celebration of Saint Constantinos and Helen (21 May 2015,
village of Saint Eleni of Serres).

Stop NOW the torturing of lambs and Tauruses                                                                Starting from the Thursday 21 May, religious celebration of Saint Constantinos and Helen which is also the international day of civilization !
This is the 21^st century not the Middle Ages .
